It was a bitterly cold night in the northeast, but the action was hot in Blackwood, NJ at the GCW Compound when we returned to action to present our 5 year anniversary event! The DVD will be available soon from Smart Mark Video. If you don't want to wait, read on for the results! Xavier Cross defeated Unbreakable Andy, Alex Payne, & Jason Furious in a Fantastic 4-Way - Loudy accompanied his client to the ring one last time, saying it was time he step away from managerial duties & focus his full efforts on running the company. This match was an all out aerial assault as each man looked to pick up their first win of 2018. Just when it looked as if the 2017 Master of the Mat was going to take it, Drake Chambers & Colin West made their way to ringside to distract Unbreakable Andy. Cross utilized this to his advantage & scored the pin. Post match saw Chambers assault Andy only for "2 Hott" Steve Scott to storm the ring. After helping Andy to his feet, he too began to assault the Master of the Mat! Cross returned to the ring to help fend off this new alliance. Drake Chambers w/Colin West defeated Pelle Primeau - Before the match began, West proceeded to insult everyone in attendance. From the company itself to the fans to the GCW Compound, nobody & nothing was safe from the ire of "The Professional Savage". Pelle had enough & ran to the ring to begin the match. While the contest was mostly even, it was ultimately Chambers who scored the win. Jeff Cannonball defeated Danny Demanto - The 2017 Survival of the Sickest Tournament winner returned to OPW to face the debuting Cold Hearted Playa in an extremely hard hitting match. Chairs & doors were he instruments of destruction both men used to bludgeon each other as the OPW faithful roared in approval. Cannonball scored the win after hitting a Death Valley Driver on Demanto through a door. Marc Angel defeated Jimmy Lloyd - Angel delivered his "State of OPW Address", citing that all of OPW's "Flavors of the Month" were gone & how he's been here through thick & thin for the company...only to be told there was nothing for him. Angel then held the show hostage until Jimmy Lloyd made his presence felt in the Compound. It looked like the rising star was going to score the upset, but the veteran emerged victorious. After the match ended, the lights went out; when they came back on, SHLAK attacked Angel by placing a plastic bag over his head. Angel was able to escape before any serious damage could be done. Teddy Hart defeated Tony Deppen - In a first time ever encounter that nearly blew the roof off of the GCW Compound, former OPW Champion & 2016 Master of the Mat squared off with Teddy Hart in what's certainly an early Match of the Year candidate. These two threw everything they had at each other & may have even invented some moves in the ring in an effort to best each other. While it was Hart who picked up the win, his approval of Tony Deppen after the match concluded reinforced what many believe...that Deppen is the man in OPW & our franchise player. Drew Blood defeated Kyle the Beast to retain the OPW Championship - After a lot of scathing trash talk from KTB earlier in the week towards the champion, Drew Blood was a man on a mission to prove he is the top guy & the measuring stick in OPW. And the decade plus veteran did just that by retaining the gold. Nick Gage defeated Scot Summers - It was the rematch 2 1/2 years in the making. The last time these 2 faced each other, time expired. Additional time was granted & also expired, thus ending in a draw. For 2 1/2 years, each wondered who was the better man. The question was answered last night in an absolutely vicious brawl that went all around the Compound & saw a variety of weapons used. This is definitely one you're going to want to watch when the DVD is released to see how Nick Gage picked up the win. From everyone involved at OPW, we want to thank everyone from the talent to the staff to GCW for welcoming us into their house & most importantly, YOU the fans for helping us to reach our 5th anniversary! OPW presents "Enter the Compound: the 5th Anniversary" THIS SATURDAY, 1/13 in Blackwood, NJ!1/7/2018 Since our inception 5 years ago, OPW has been referred to as "The Little Promotion That Could". When other companies in southern NJ abandoned their roots & traditions in an attempt to go more "mainstream", YOU spoke up & demanded an alternative. 5 years later, we've proven that On Point Wrestling IS that alternative...that we're the promotion that CAN. And without YOU, the On Point faithful, we wouldn't have made it to our 5 year anniversary! So we've put together what we feel is a special card for all of you; one that you will enjoy & is our way of saying "THANK YOU". New talent & established stars are going to give you their all come this Saturday, January 13th at the GCW Compound in Blackwood, NJ! Let's take a look at the card: "The Beard Villain" Johnny Malloy will make his OPW debut & he has demanded violence! OPW Management has been in touch with an individual who has never competed in an OPW ring before & wants to answer the call; see what's in store by being in attendance this Saturday! Longtime member of the roster, Marc Angel...is feeling some kind of way. He has requested an open platform to deliver a "State of On Point Address" on 1/13 in Blackwood. Given that Angel super kicked his own son at last year's anniversary event, one has to wonder just how far he'll go this Saturday. 2017 wasn't kind to Pelle Primeau & Drake Chambers. Primeau ended the year unsuccessfully challenging for the OPW Championship last month & Drake Chambers came up short in the finals of the Masters of the Mat tournament. Both want to start 2018 off strong; they will face each other in singles competition this Saturday. With heading to the Compound, it seems only natural that a representative of GCW would want to test one of OPW's best. This Saturday, the 2017 Survival of the Sickest Tournament winner...Jeff Cannonball...will face the debuting "Cold Hearted Playa", Danny Demanto! It wouldn't be an OPW event without our signature Fantastic 4-Way! Our first one of 2018 this Saturday will feature OPW Original Xavier Cross, the 2017 Master of the Mat...Unbreakable Andy, Alex Payne, & the debuting Jason Furious! Tony Deppen's looking to get back on the winning track this year. After a nearly year long reign with the OPW Championship, he lost the gold in November to Drew Blood. Rather than pursue a rematch at this time, Deppen opted to face one of the biggest free agents currently on the independent circuit for the first time ever. This Saturday, Tony Deppen will face the debuting Teddy Hart! Drew Blood's at the top of the mountain in OPW. A man who was denied opportunity in other companies is now a man offering opportunity to those in On Point. After successfully defending the gold last month, Blood puts the title on the line once again this Saturday against a man who is far from being a puny human...Kyle the Beast! And in our special attraction main event...a rematch 2 1/2 years in the making. The first time these 2 titans clashed at "Throwdown 2"...despite hitting each other with everything they had both in & outside of the OTW Arena...the match went to a draw. For 2 1/2 years, everyone wondered who the better man is. This Saturday, we'll find out when Nick Gage faces the returning Scot Summers! It all goes down THIS SATURDAY, January 13th at the GCW Compound in Blackwood, NJ! Tickets will be available at the door! The address for the venue is: 110 Harmon Drive Unit 306 Blackwood, NJ 08012 Bell Time is 8 PM. Discuss the event across all social media platforms using the official hashtags #OPW5 & #EnterTheCompound! We'll see you all this Saturday, January 13th in Blackwood, NJ as we celebrate 5 years & ENTER THE COMPOUND! |
