This past weekend, OPW presented its second live event of the year as we returned to the GCW Compound in Blackwood, NJ. OPW "Turning Point" will be available soon from our friends at Smart Mark Video. But if you don't want to wait until it's released, you can read on below for results from the show! Xavier Cross defeated Sebastian Cage, Steve Scott, & Damien Smith in a Fantastic Four Way match. - It was a match mixing returns, debuts, & long time veterans of OPW. That experience proved pivotal in this match which was nothing short of an aerial battle between these 4. High flying...fast paced...everything you'd expect in our signature Fantastic Four Way match! KTB defeated Pelle Primeau. - Both men were looking to pick up their first win of 2018 in this match. On paper, you'd think Primeau would have no chance. But the former ROH star held his own against the beast & threw everything he had at him. Ultimately, KTB scored the win. Pinkie Sanchez defeated Danny Demanto. - These 2 are no strangers to each other, having had some legendary bouts elsewhere on the independent circuit. It was inevitable that the feud came to OPW. After taking time to insult our friends at GCW, Sanchez began to bring the fight to Demanto. The ring couldn't contain the action as the 2 brawled around the floor; even the fans got involved in chopping Sanchez at the request of Demanto. Shopping carts...doors...anything & everything these 2 could use against each other found its way into the match. The wily Sanchez picked up the win in a feud that is far from over. Unbreakable Andy defeated Jason Furious. - After impressing OPW Management in January with his debut, Jason Furious found himself facing off against the man he teamed with just 2 months ago. A win over 2017's Master of the Mat would come with some serious bragging rights for OPW's latest newcomer. Both men matched each other move for move. The experience of Unbreakable Andy wound up being the difference maker in this bout. Rob Marsh w/ Chad Epik defeated Lowlife Louie. - After nearly being retired during a match in 2016, Lowlife Louie made an emotional return to action in OPW for the 1st time in a year & half to face one of deathmatch wrestling's rising stars. The OPW faithful in attendance wanted blood & both men provided. Chairs, thumbtack bats, carpet strips, & lighttubes found their way to the ring during this ultraviolent encounter. In what could be considered an upset, Rob Marsh got the win against the 2016 Survival of the Sickest Tournament winner. After the match, Louie addressed his family & fans and told everyone in attendance that Marsh more than earned a spot in this year's tournament...prompting an irate Marc Angel to emerge from the back. After having enough of both men being berated by Angel, Jeff Cannonball stormed the ring to inform Angel that he would be facing Lowlife Louie & himself in the 1st round of this year's Survival of the Sickest! More information to be announced regarding SOTS 3! Drew Blood defeated Joey Janela to retain the OPW Championship. - Janela returned to OPW for the 1st time since September with one goal in mind; to become the 1st ever 2x OPW Champion. Blood was out to prove that after over a decade of fighting, he wasn't ready for his reign to come to an end just yet. The Era of Blood continues in OPW thanks to Blood surprising Janela with a pinfall out of nowhere. After the match, Blood gave Janela his due in a great show of respect. Janela began to return in kind only to tell the champ what he really thinks & stormed out of the ringside area. Nick Gage defeated Tony Deppen. - Prior to the match starting Deppen addressed Gage & the crowd, claiming that he was OPW's #1 guy & that he wasn't going to let someone who was locked up during the entire time he was on top come in and take that away from him. Deppen brought the fight to Gage, & didn't have to get ultraviolent to do it. There where times when it looked like Deppen would end Gage's nearly year long win streak in OPW, but one chokebreaker saw Deppen looking at the lights for the 3 count. Post match, Gage gave Deppen his due & proceeded to call out OPW Champion Drew Blood. The challenge was issued for SOTS 3...title on the line. Blood accepted, which saw things get more interesting as Deppen cited his right to a rematch for the title. As the crowd chanted "THREE WAY DANCE", Gage said to give the fans what they want. As of press time, the OPW Championship will be contested in a 3 Way Dance on 5/5 at SOTS 3 when Drew Blood defends against Nick Gage & Tony Deppen! After Blood & Deppen left the ring, Gage addressed the crowd again; thanking everyone who supports OPW & encouraged the fans in attendance to bring their friends to these underrated shows. He also said that OPW & GCW run Blackwood, if not all of southern NJ, and if anyone has a problem with it to step up. OPW returns to live action at the GCW Compound in Blackwood, NJ on Saturday, May 5th as we present "Survival of the Sickest 3"!
