Like sharks drawn to a feeding frenzy, the OPW faithful packed the GCW Compound last Saturday in Blackwood, NJ as we officially kicked off deathmatch wrestling season in the northeast! To find out what happened, read on for results: As the show began, this year's tournament participants made their way to the ring. It was announced that Jeff Cannonball & Reed Bentley both had unexpected family emergencies that would prevent them from competing. "The Big Scare" Dan O'Hare & Brad Cash (thanks to an impressive showing in SOTS 2) filled in the vacant spots to round out this year's field of 12. Marc Angel defeated Lowlife Louie & Dan O'Hare in the Home Run Derby Match - All 3 men were swinging for the fences in an attempt to find themselves in the finals of this year's tournament. Bats...dildos...you name it were all being swung in the Compound. At one point, it looked as if the match was going to be stopped by GCW officials after O'Hare made a sickening landing on the floor. To the shock of everyone, Danny Demanto nailed Lowlife Louie in the head with a VCR & rolled him back in the ring...allowing Angel to get the pin. Post match, Demanto addressed Louie & the crowd regarding his actions, citing that he knew he was 1 of Louie's dream matches after coming back from injury & he knew Louie's clock was ticking. The challenge was issued for the next OPW event (details coming soon)...Lowlife Louie vs. Danny Demanto in a FANS BRING THE WEAPONS MATCH. Jimmy Lloyd defeated Brad Cash & Mike Roach in the Pallets of Pain Match - "Little Lobo" found himself as the fan favorite in this match. Pallets adorned with gusset plates & other implements of destruction were the weapons of choice in this bloody bout. Despite finding himself driven through a light tube covered pallet, Lloyd advanced to the finals & 1 step closer to this year's trophy. G-Raver defeated Rob Marsh & Devon Moore in the Carpet Strips & Cinder Blocks Match - Brutal isn't a strong enough word to describe what went down in this match. This is one that has to be seen to be believed. When the fans chant "NO MORE KIDS" as a result of a grown man taking a cinder block to his genitals...yeah. These guys went THAT far in their quest to advance. G-Raver emerged the survivor of this bout. John Wayne Murdoch defeated Drew Chaos & Aidan Blackheart in the Fans Bring the Weapons Match - Beds of forks, barbed wire boards, a barbed wire ironing board, Hell even a razor board were among the weapons the OPW faithful brought to the Compound for this match. Bodies hit the floor & fell from the ceiling of the Compound as all 3 men punished each other in their quest for ultraviolent glory. After the dust settled, Murdoch found himself advancing to the finals. After intermission, Pelle Primeau made his way to the ring & demanded competition on OPW's sickest show of the year. When the lights came back on in the Compound, the challenge was answered by the returning "Dirty Daddy" Chris Dickinson! Pelle brought the fight to the Dirty Daddy. The 2 brawled all around the Compound, destroying the merchandise table & putting a hole in a wall. Despite bringing the fight to the Dirty Daddy, Pelle found himself being powerbombed through a door & looking at the lights as Dickinson won his first match in OPW in over a year. After the match, Primeau grabbed the mic & said he's determined to make the OPW faithful love him before being assisted to the back. The OPW Championship was on the line as Drew Blood made his way to the ring to defend against Nick Gage. Before the bell rang, Devon Moore & Rob Marsh stormed the ringside area & attacked both men. This is OPW, & we strive to give the fans what they want, so when they demanded a Fatal Four Way, we gave it to them! The ring couldn't contain the action as the fight went all over & into the crowd. When it looked as if we were about to see a new champion, Drew Blood made his way back into the ring to steal the pin & retain the gold. Post match saw Nick Gage call out Blood, telling him he was a better wrestler than him & he would be a better champion. Blood retorted that they'd do it in a No Rope Barbed Wire Match in the future, citing he could be Gage in his world. More on this situation as it develops! G-Raver defeated Marc Angel, Jimmy Lloyd, & John Wayne Murdoch in the Hell from the Heavens Match - Barbed wire was wrapped around the ropes & light tube crosses, among other weapons, were placed in each corner of the ring. Hanging from the rafters was a WEED WACKER. The first man to grab the weed wacker would be able to use it in this elimination match. Another one that must be seen to be believed, we'll let you watch it for yourselves. Standing tall as the sole survivor & the 2018 Survival of the Sickest tournament winner...G-RAVER! If you want blood...you'll get it on Saturday, May 5th at the GCW Compound! Chris Behringer On Point Wrestling www.OPWrestling.com Follow me on Twitter @OPWchris This past weekend, OPW presented its second live event of the year as we returned to the GCW Compound in Blackwood, NJ. OPW "Turning Point" will be available soon from our friends at Smart Mark Video. But if you don't want to wait until it's released, you can read on below for results from the show! Xavier Cross defeated Sebastian Cage, Steve Scott, & Damien Smith in a Fantastic Four Way match. - It was a match mixing returns, debuts, & long time veterans of OPW. That experience proved pivotal in this match which was nothing short of an aerial battle between these 4. High flying...fast paced...everything you'd expect in our signature Fantastic Four Way match! KTB defeated Pelle Primeau. - Both men were looking to pick up their first win of 2018 in this match. On paper, you'd think Primeau would have no chance. But the former ROH star held his own against the beast & threw everything he had at him. Ultimately, KTB scored the win. Pinkie Sanchez defeated Danny Demanto. - These 2 are no strangers to each other, having had some legendary bouts elsewhere on the independent circuit. It was inevitable that the feud came to OPW. After taking time to insult our friends at GCW, Sanchez began to bring the fight to Demanto. The ring couldn't contain the action as the 2 brawled around the floor; even the fans got involved in chopping Sanchez at the request of Demanto. Shopping carts...doors...anything & everything these 2 could use against each other found its way into the match. The wily Sanchez picked up the win in a feud that is far from over. Unbreakable Andy defeated Jason Furious. - After impressing OPW Management in January with his debut, Jason Furious found himself facing off against the man he teamed with just 2 months ago. A win over 2017's Master of the Mat would come with some serious bragging rights for OPW's latest newcomer. Both men matched each other move for move. The experience of Unbreakable Andy wound up being the difference maker in this bout. Rob Marsh w/ Chad Epik defeated Lowlife Louie. - After nearly being retired during a match in 2016, Lowlife Louie made an emotional return to action in OPW for the 1st time in a year & half to face one of deathmatch wrestling's rising stars. The OPW faithful in attendance wanted blood & both men provided. Chairs, thumbtack bats, carpet strips, & lighttubes found their way to the ring during this ultraviolent encounter. In what could be considered an upset, Rob Marsh got the win against the 2016 Survival of the Sickest Tournament winner. After the match, Louie addressed his family & fans and told everyone in attendance that Marsh more than earned a spot in this year's tournament...prompting an irate Marc Angel to emerge from the back. After having enough of both men being berated by Angel, Jeff Cannonball stormed the ring to inform Angel that he would be facing Lowlife Louie & himself in the 1st round of this year's Survival of the Sickest! More information to be announced regarding SOTS 3! Drew Blood defeated Joey Janela to retain the OPW Championship. - Janela returned to OPW for the 1st time since September with one goal in mind; to become the 1st ever 2x OPW Champion. Blood was out to prove that after over a decade of fighting, he wasn't ready for his reign to come to an end just yet. The Era of Blood continues in OPW thanks to Blood surprising Janela with a pinfall out of nowhere. After the match, Blood gave Janela his due in a great show of respect. Janela began to return in kind only to tell the champ what he really thinks & stormed out of the ringside area. Nick Gage defeated Tony Deppen. - Prior to the match starting Deppen addressed Gage & the crowd, claiming that he was OPW's #1 guy & that he wasn't going to let someone who was locked up during the entire time he was on top come in and take that away from him. Deppen brought the fight to Gage, & didn't have to get ultraviolent to do it. There where times when it looked like Deppen would end Gage's nearly year long win streak in OPW, but one chokebreaker saw Deppen looking at the lights for the 3 count. Post match, Gage gave Deppen his due & proceeded to call out OPW Champion Drew Blood. The challenge was issued for SOTS 3...title on the line. Blood accepted, which saw things get more interesting as Deppen cited his right to a rematch for the title. As the crowd chanted "THREE WAY DANCE", Gage said to give the fans what they want. As of press time, the OPW Championship will be contested in a 3 Way Dance on 5/5 at SOTS 3 when Drew Blood defends against Nick Gage & Tony Deppen! After Blood & Deppen left the ring, Gage addressed the crowd again; thanking everyone who supports OPW & encouraged the fans in attendance to bring their friends to these underrated shows. He also said that OPW & GCW run Blackwood, if not all of southern NJ, and if anyone has a problem with it to step up. OPW returns to live action at the GCW Compound in Blackwood, NJ on Saturday, May 5th as we present "Survival of the Sickest 3"! OPW will present an afternoon event at 3 PM with GCW presenting their show later in the evening; no better way to start your St. Patrick's Day with a double header of wrestling! Our card is as follows: After surprisingly defending OPW's honor in January, Pelle Primeu will compete in singles action against the man who came up short in the championship match, Kyle the Beast! Both men are looking to get their 2018 on track with their first win. We will see 2 returns to OPW in our next singles encounter. Two men who are not strangers to each other will battle in the Compound when Danny Demanto faces Pinkie Sanchez! After an impressive showing at our 5th anniversary, Jason Furious returns to face the 2017 Master of the Mat, Unbreakable Andy in what will certainly be an aerial spectacle! It wouldn't be an OPW event without our signature Fantastic Four Way! Doing battle in this month's installment will be Xavier Cross, Steve Scott, the debuting Sebastian Cage, & the returning Damien Smith! If you want blood, YOU GOT IT! Lowlife Louie returns to OPW action for the 1st time since 2016 after nearly being retired due to injuries & will face the debuting Rob Marsh! For the 1st time ever, OPW fan favorite & franchise player Tony Deppen will face off against "The King" Nick Gage! It was a bitterly cold night in the northeast, but the action was hot in Blackwood, NJ at the GCW Compound when we returned to action to present our 5 year anniversary event! The DVD will be available soon from Smart Mark Video. If you don't want to wait, read on for the results! Xavier Cross defeated Unbreakable Andy, Alex Payne, & Jason Furious in a Fantastic 4-Way - Loudy accompanied his client to the ring one last time, saying it was time he step away from managerial duties & focus his full efforts on running the company. This match was an all out aerial assault as each man looked to pick up their first win of 2018. Just when it looked as if the 2017 Master of the Mat was going to take it, Drake Chambers & Colin West made their way to ringside to distract Unbreakable Andy. Cross utilized this to his advantage & scored the pin. Post match saw Chambers assault Andy only for "2 Hott" Steve Scott to storm the ring. After helping Andy to his feet, he too began to assault the Master of the Mat! Cross returned to the ring to help fend off this new alliance. Drake Chambers w/Colin West defeated Pelle Primeau - Before the match began, West proceeded to insult everyone in attendance. From the company itself to the fans to the GCW Compound, nobody & nothing was safe from the ire of "The Professional Savage". Pelle had enough & ran to the ring to begin the match. While the contest was mostly even, it was ultimately Chambers who scored the win. Jeff Cannonball defeated Danny Demanto - The 2017 Survival of the Sickest Tournament winner returned to OPW to face the debuting Cold Hearted Playa in an extremely hard hitting match. Chairs & doors were he instruments of destruction both men used to bludgeon each other as the OPW faithful roared in approval. Cannonball scored the win after hitting a Death Valley Driver on Demanto through a door. Marc Angel defeated Jimmy Lloyd - Angel delivered his "State of OPW Address", citing that all of OPW's "Flavors of the Month" were gone & how he's been here through thick & thin for the company...only to be told there was nothing for him. Angel then held the show hostage until Jimmy Lloyd made his presence felt in the Compound. It looked like the rising star was going to score the upset, but the veteran emerged victorious. After the match ended, the lights went out; when they came back on, SHLAK attacked Angel by placing a plastic bag over his head. Angel was able to escape before any serious damage could be done. Teddy Hart defeated Tony Deppen - In a first time ever encounter that nearly blew the roof off of the GCW Compound, former OPW Champion & 2016 Master of the Mat squared off with Teddy Hart in what's certainly an early Match of the Year candidate. These two threw everything they had at each other & may have even invented some moves in the ring in an effort to best each other. While it was Hart who picked up the win, his approval of Tony Deppen after the match concluded reinforced what many believe...that Deppen is the man in OPW & our franchise player. Drew Blood defeated Kyle the Beast to retain the OPW Championship - After a lot of scathing trash talk from KTB earlier in the week towards the champion, Drew Blood was a man on a mission to prove he is the top guy & the measuring stick in OPW. And the decade plus veteran did just that by retaining the gold. Nick Gage defeated Scot Summers - It was the rematch 2 1/2 years in the making. The last time these 2 faced each other, time expired. Additional time was granted & also expired, thus ending in a draw. For 2 1/2 years, each wondered who was the better man. The question was answered last night in an absolutely vicious brawl that went all around the Compound & saw a variety of weapons used. This is definitely one you're going to want to watch when the DVD is released to see how Nick Gage picked up the win. From everyone involved at OPW, we want to thank everyone from the talent to the staff to GCW for welcoming us into their house & most importantly, YOU the fans for helping us to reach our 5th anniversary! Keep checking back here & all official OPW social media (facebook.com/OnPointWrestling, Twitter.com/OnPointWrestlin, & Instagram.com/OnPointWrestling) for news on our next live event! OPW presents "Enter the Compound: the 5th Anniversary" THIS SATURDAY, 1/13 in Blackwood, NJ!1/7/2018 Since our inception 5 years ago, OPW has been referred to as "The Little Promotion That Could". When other companies in southern NJ abandoned their roots & traditions in an attempt to go more "mainstream", YOU spoke up & demanded an alternative. 5 years later, we've proven that On Point Wrestling IS that alternative...that we're the promotion that CAN. And without YOU, the On Point faithful, we wouldn't have made it to our 5 year anniversary! So we've put together what we feel is a special card for all of you; one that you will enjoy & is our way of saying "THANK YOU". New talent & established stars are going to give you their all come this Saturday, January 13th at the GCW Compound in Blackwood, NJ! Let's take a look at the card: "The Beard Villain" Johnny Malloy will make his OPW debut & he has demanded violence! OPW Management has been in touch with an individual who has never competed in an OPW ring before & wants to answer the call; see what's in store by being in attendance this Saturday! Longtime member of the roster, Marc Angel...is feeling some kind of way. He has requested an open platform to deliver a "State of On Point Address" on 1/13 in Blackwood. Given that Angel super kicked his own son at last year's anniversary event, one has to wonder just how far he'll go this Saturday. 2017 wasn't kind to Pelle Primeau & Drake Chambers. Primeau ended the year unsuccessfully challenging for the OPW Championship last month & Drake Chambers came up short in the finals of the Masters of the Mat tournament. Both want to start 2018 off strong; they will face each other in singles competition this Saturday. With heading to the Compound, it seems only natural that a representative of GCW would want to test one of OPW's best. This Saturday, the 2017 Survival of the Sickest Tournament winner...Jeff Cannonball...will face the debuting "Cold Hearted Playa", Danny Demanto! It wouldn't be an OPW event without our signature Fantastic 4-Way! Our first one of 2018 this Saturday will feature OPW Original Xavier Cross, the 2017 Master of the Mat...Unbreakable Andy, Alex Payne, & the debuting Jason Furious! Tony Deppen's looking to get back on the winning track this year. After a nearly year long reign with the OPW Championship, he lost the gold in November to Drew Blood. Rather than pursue a rematch at this time, Deppen opted to face one of the biggest free agents currently on the independent circuit for the first time ever. This Saturday, Tony Deppen will face the debuting Teddy Hart! Drew Blood's at the top of the mountain in OPW. A man who was denied opportunity in other companies is now a man offering opportunity to those in On Point. After successfully defending the gold last month, Blood puts the title on the line once again this Saturday against a man who is far from being a puny human...Kyle the Beast! And in our special attraction main event...a rematch 2 1/2 years in the making. The first time these 2 titans clashed at "Throwdown 2"...despite hitting each other with everything they had both in & outside of the OTW Arena...the match went to a draw. For 2 1/2 years, everyone wondered who the better man is. This Saturday, we'll find out when Nick Gage faces the returning Scot Summers! It all goes down THIS SATURDAY, January 13th at the GCW Compound in Blackwood, NJ! Tickets will be available at the door! The address for the venue is: 110 Harmon Drive Unit 306 Blackwood, NJ 08012 Bell Time is 8 PM. As the year draws to a close, OPW Management is hard at work putting the final touches on 2017 as well as the beginning of 2018. It is with that in mind we wanted to share these year end updates with all of you! First, there will be an OPW Championship defense THIS SATURDAY, December 30th at the Game Changer Wrestling Compound in Blackwood, NJ.
